Surrounded by her loving family, Vivian Y. Kadavy, 97 years old of Lincoln, died Monday, October 9, 2023 Vivian was born August 26, 1926 in Brainard, NE to Thomas & Mary (Pelan) Ratkovec. She graduated from Brainard High School. After marrying Julius F. Kadavy on February 21, 1949, they started farming in the Saunders County area. They moved to Lincoln and began their family. Vivian loved working at Elgin Watch Co. in the early 1950's. Years were spent working for Cooper's Restaurant into the early 1970's. She enjoyed working for various companies including Control Data and Carol Wright. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lincoln. Mom was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved and lived life to the fullest. She was generous and helpful in all she did. Vivian is survived by her brother, Gordon Ratkovec of Saunders County; children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Daughter, Yvonne (Donald) Matulka and their 4 children Chris Matulka and his children Michael, Colby, & Alexa all of Columbus, Sean (Julia) Matulka and children Sadie & Laura all of Columbus, & Michelle (Chris) Woolsey and their children Hailey, Hannah, & Reese all of Octavia, NE. Daughter, Tracey (Mike) White and their daughters Sienna & Charlie all of Omaha. Son, Lyle T. (Linda J.) Kadavy and their daughter Brandi (James) Kriha and their children, Payton & Alyvia all of Waverly. Son, Randy (Julie) Kadavy and their children Elizabeth (Bryan) Vesely, and children Harlee, Austin & Trevor all of Peoria, AZ. Son, Ryan (Candiss) Kadavy of Peoria, AZ and their children Kash & Kanon all of Peoria, AZ. Son, Nick Kadavy of Ellensburg, WA. Daughter, Katie (Darren) Whitmire and their children Noraa, Asher, & Darla all of Dewey, AZ Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arthur & Lumir Ratkovec and husband, Julius F. Kadavy. Visitation 5-7 pm, with a Rosary at 7 pm, Thursday (10/19/23) at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln.
