John Parma, born on March 11, 1948 in Beaumont, Texas, passed away in Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday September 28, 2023. He was a man of many accomplishments and a loving family man. John graduated from St. John Catholic School in Ennis, Texas, and later from Southern Methodist University. He joined the Naval Reserves early in life and was based in various locations, including Chicago, Dallas, and Charleston. John was deployed in Pensacola, Florida to train with Navy Security Group handling special intelligence where he finished first in class and was later stationed in London, England, working for the Commander in Chief of the European Theater US Security Group. John was later stationed in Dallas to support the Dallas Fort Worth Security Intelligence Reservist Group. John was employed by Safeco Insurance Company, the Internal Revenue Service, working in the audit group for the IRS, and for Baker, Baker, and Baker CPA firm in Dallas. John later opened an Allstate & Financial Services office and founded a tax advisory firm with office locations in Ennis and the Dallas metro area serving clients across the US. John was known for his dedication to his family and community. He sang in the requiem choir at St. John's. John also enjoyed golfing with his brothers and nephews, playing in family domino tournaments, and traveling. His love for his family and community will be forever remembered. John is preceded in death by his father Wesley Parma, biological mother Emily "Millie" Parma, Lillian Parma, brothers Wesley Parma and Robert Parma. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Parma, his daughter and her husband, son Todd Parma, son Greg Parma and his wife Julia, and six grandchildren; his brothers and their wives: Dennis and Karen, Richard and Linda. He is also survived by his sisters: Patsy and her husband Jerry Zmolik, Doris and her late husband Jodie Zmolik, Carolyn Zmolik, and Janis and her husband Joseph Sladecek. The visitation service to celebrate the life of John Parma will be held at JE Keever Mortuary on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 6 pm to 8 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 10 am in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis, Texas. Pallbearers: Wes Zmolik, Robert Sladecek, Donald Zmolik, Michael Zmolik, Chad Parma and Jake Saenz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice to celebrate John's life and legacy.
