Many thanks, Candy Published: Thursday, March 22, 2001 12:00 AM CST in the Willcox Range News, Willcox, Arizona "Daniel B.Burreson 1924-2001 Daniel B. Burreson of Bowie, died March 17, 2001 in Tucson at the age of 76. Daniel was born on Nov. 30, 1924 in Meridian, Texas, to Andrew Burreson and Ellen Hunt. He came to Arizona in 1943 and to Bowie in 1964 from San Simon and Steins Pass, N.M. Daniel was a retired signal maintainer for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 44 years. He attended Bowie United Methodist Church, and was a member of the SanBow Club, Old Time Fiddlers Association, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. He also loved to hunt, fish, garden and played many musical instruments. On Feb. 8, 1944 in Coolidge, he married Geneva K. Porter. Survivors include his wife Geneva of Bowie; sons, Daniel (Karen) Burreson, Jr. of Yuma, Ken (Aleah) Burreson of Scottsdale, Mike (Linda) Burreson of Tucson, Jodell (Karen) Burreson of Holbrook; and a daughter Sandra (Kenny) Holmes of Deming, N.M. Fifteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive him. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Private cremation was conducted at Westlawn Crematorium with Memorial Services on Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m., at the Bowie United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made to the Desert Rest Cemetery Assoc., P.O. Box 254, Bowie, AZ 85605 for the construction of the Memorial Wall at the cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Westlawn Chapel & Mortuary in Willcox."
