Orval John Pinkes passed away on September 27th. 2023, at the age of 91 years old. He was born a twin to parents, Louis and Anna Pinkes in Genoa, Nebraska in 1932. The family moved to Omaha Nebraska when he was only 2 years old. Orval had a paper route in his neighborhood at a young age. Later in life, he went to school for heating and air conditioning. He started a career at Millard Heating and Air Conditioning then went to work for Millard Manufacturing. He also ran Orv's Auto Sales at his brother's body shop for many years. Orval proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War as a Corporal. His division was a part of Heartbreak Ridge. Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Anna Pinkes; wife, Lucille Pinkes. He is survived by his twin brother, Tony Pinkes; five daughters: Patty Pinkes, Donna Urzendowski (Tom), Debbie Zink (Edd), Joanie Quinata, and Kathy Reynolds; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way. Orv loved football. That was his sport. If you were looking for him on a weekend, you would find him in his backyard doing yard work with his big, old headphones on listening to a football game. If you knew Orv, Mountain Dew was a part of him. Anyone coming for a visit was generously offered a Mountain Dew. He also loved to travel and was proud to say that he has been to 50 states. Orval was also an animal lover. He took the best care of his yellow lab, George, and then his beloved dog Buddy. He always said, "Your dog is your dog". He eventually became a cat owner to his best friend Buddy. He was loved by many. He always had a good heart and showed it to the people around him. He will truly be missed. "See You In Church" VISITATION: Friday, October 6, 2023, 5-7 p.m., at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd. FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, October 7, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at the West Center Chapel. INTERMENT with Military Honors: Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society.
