Jeanette Florine Albers Chovanec, age 92, was born on May 6, 1931 in Waldeck, TX and died on Saturday, September 23, 2023 in Houston, TX. Jeanette retired after 30+ years as a cashier with the Spring Branch Independent School District. She was a proud mother of her two sons, Jerry and Ron. Jeanette was an avid vegetable and flower gardener and was known far and wide for her mud-bottom pie. She also enjoyed fishing for crappie and catfish on Lake Conroe as well as country & western, polka and waltz dancing. She is preceded in death by her husband Jake Chovanec and her parents Edmund and Antonia Albers. She is survived by sons Jerry Chovanec and Ron Chovanec, daughter-in-law Stacey Gilcrease Chovanec, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery at 1101 Antoine Dr. in Houston, TX 77055 followed immediately thereafter by a funeral service and burial service, also at Woodlawn. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made in Mrs. Chovanec's name to a charity of the contributor's choice. Woodlawn Funeral Home
