"Funeral services were held Monday at the Noble Funeral Chapel in Mitchell for Mrs. Orlo J Halstead, 71, who died at the Methodist Hospital there July 21. Rev. Dwayne J Knight officiated, and interment was in Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Edna Margaret Lamster Halstead was born March 19, 1895 in Seward County NE to Mr and Mrs Charles Lamster. She married Orlo Jess Halstead at Sioux City IA November 25, 1919 and was a member of the First Methodist Church in Mitchell. She had formerly lived in Brookings and Grant Counties and had resided in Mitchell since 1956. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include her husband; six children, Mrs. Russell (Genevieve) Simmons of White, Mrs. Own (Wanita) Nagel of Mitchell, Mrs. David (Orva June) Sorbel of Omaha NE, Orville of White, Mrs. Harold (Garnet) Brush of Rock Rapids IA, Mrs. Doyle (LaVonne) Aslesen of Mitchell; 20 grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Reek fo Orange CA and George Reek of Rock Island IL; three sisters, Mrs. John Rudebusch of White, Mrs. Clifford Ostrander of Mesa AZ, and Mrs. James McKibben of Union Lake MI."
