Evie I. Childs GALVESTON - Evie Idell Childs, 85, of Galveston died Friday, March 10,1989, at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, 1989, at Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson. Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery in Timpson with local arrangements by Malloy and Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home. Mrs. Childs was born Jan. 22, 1904, in Rusk County. She was a housewife and a member of Caledonia Methodist Church in Timpson. She was preceded in death by her husband, V. C. Childs. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Maisel of Galveston and Sally Sutton of La Marque; two sons, Glenn Childs and Vernon Childs, Jr., both of Galveston; a sister, Hazel Crisp of Texas City; a brother, Herbert Nix of Longivew; two granddaughters, Cathy Beasley of League City and Virginia Chittum of Orlando, Fla.; five grandsons, Glenn Childs Jr. of Austin, Brett Maisel of Nacogdoches, Gary Childs of Jacksonville, Terry Childs and Bobby Childs, both of Galveston; 13 great-grandchildren; and a hos of nieces and nephews.
