Obituary (from the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow funeral home website): Miss Johnnie Kate Jetton, age 71, of Denton, Texas, passed away September 25, 2004, in Denton. She was born July 16, 1933, in Collin County, Texas, to Chester Bennie and Essie Mae (Brinlee) Jetton. She received her Phd in English from the University of Texas and was a professor of English at the University of North Texas for many years. She was a member of the Singing Oaks Church of Christ in Denton. She is survived by her brother, Bennie Jetton of Rock Hall, Maryland; nephews, Gregory Jetton also of Rock Hall, Timothy Jetton of Sykesville, Maryland, and Kyle Jetton of Clearwater, Florida; grand-nieces, Emily and Ellie Jetton, both of Rock Hall, and Indira Jetton of Sykesville; grand-nephew, Vijay Jetton also of Sykesville. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 29, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel.
