Graveside services for William Bryant Giles, 96, of Palestine will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Land of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Dees officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Mr. Giles died Thursday (Apr. 10, 2008) in the David E. Foster Hospice Unit. He was born Dec. 21, 1911 in Asher, Okla., to Albert Sydney and Bertha Sara Smith Giles. Mr. Giles was a retired tool pusher for the oilfield industry. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lee Giles; sisters, Bessie Arrendell and Marie Baker; and brothers, Clarence Giles and Lonnie Giles. Mr. Giles is survived by granddaughter, Camile Douthitt and husband Steven of Palestine; and sister, Helen Keeling of Palestine. Published in the Herald-Press from 4/11/2008.
