Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta. Mavis was born on March 31, 1932 in Winnsboro, TX to James and Ruthie (Baber) Overstreet. She married Charles Edwin (Charlie) Beaird on December 23, 1947 at the courthouse in Archer City, TX. She was 15 years old when they wed, and they were married 71 years. Mavis (or Dean as those in Big Lake knew her) was a strong woman with a great sense of humor. She was an extremely positive person and she had a very cheerful outlook on life. Along with Charlie, they spent their years together in Holliday, Houston, Vernon, Big Lake (30 years) and Henrietta (30 years). She enjoyed hosting numerous musical get-togethers at their home and she loved to sing songs with Charlie. Some of her favorite songs to perform were "Somewhere Between", "Me and Jesus" and "Pick Me Up on Your Way Down". She spent the last 4 years of her life at Advanced Rehab in Wichita Falls where she was "adopted" and loved greatly by her friend and guardian angel, Brenda Stone. Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charlie, her brothers Robert and James Overstreet, and her granddaughter Anna Trattles. Survivors include sons Larry Beaird (and wife Paula) of Nashville, TN and Bruce Beaird of Odessa, TX; grandsons Eli, Aaron and Jordan Beaird; granddaughter Jacqueline Rudloff; great grandchildren Chris and Alex Trattles and Edwin and Davey Beaird.
