Bio
Royce Lynn Fain, 81, died Thursday, August 31, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. Royce was born on November 11, 1942, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Marvin and Rosie Fain. Royce was a long-time Sanger resident, graduating from Sanger High School in 1960. Royce married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Darlene Scoggin, in 1961. He made Sanger his home and retired from General Motors in 1994. Royce was an avid reader, devouring any pulpy Western paperback he could find. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Royce is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda Darlene Fain; his parents; four brothers, Billy, Doug, Eddie, Gary, and Jimmy Fain; and stepdaughter, Marlene Wilson. Royce is survived by his second wife, Carmen Fain; children Darla and Donald Fain; stepson, Ryan Wilson; brother, Danny Fain; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service at Sanger Cemetery will be on Thursday, September 7, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sanger Public Library.
