Leo Behne Jr., 78, of Lincoln, was born May 10, 1945, in David City, NE to Leo and Alice (Helman) Behne. A loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Leo's family was his pride and joy. As a mechanical engineer for National Crane for 27 years, he was a stalwart of his profession. He was a talented individual who could fix almost anything - a testament to his problem-solving skills and ingenuity. Leo was a proud US Navy veteran, whose love for his country was as profound as his love for his family and friends. Leo's love for the outdoors could be seen through his hobbies of hunting, fishing, trap shooting with his buddies, and being on the farm. These things brought him great joy. He also spent numerous hours playing a mean pitch game. His aptitude for engineering was not only his profession but also a hobby that showcased his oh so many creative innovations using his trusty duck tape, wiring and tools. Growing up, Leo's love for sports never diminished and he continued to be an avid sports enthusiast throughout his life. He is survived by his beloved wife Carol Behne, his son Derek (Melissa) Behne, daughter Lisa (Daniel) Reichert, grandchildren; Alec (Holly) Miller, Maren Behne, Jackson and Lucas Reichert; siblings, Joyce (David) Birkel, Eileen (Loren) Kuzelka, Larry (LaVonne) Behne, Allen Behne, Nancy (Gordon) Winters, Michael (Paula) Behne, Mark Behne.
