{ Obituary - Published by GoSanAngelo, San Angelo, Texas on October 13, 2002 } Clara Peel Wright, 100, of Brady, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, in Brady. Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Wright was born on Feb. 23, 1902, in Pontotoc to George and Mary Francis Peel. She celebrated her 100th birthday this past February with her family at the nursing home in Brady. She had lived most her long life in Brady and San Angelo. She had been a licensed vocational nurse at the old Shannon Hospital starting in the basement with the polio patients. She retired from Shannon Hospital in 1973. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, 100F No. 264 and was a grand noble from 1957 until 1958. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Juanita Miers; sisters, Mittie Simmons, Eunice Bolton and Bess Truett; and brothers, Bud Peel and Bill Peel. She is survived by one son, Charlie Dye and wife, Mary Elizabeth Brady; one granddaughter, Debbie Robinson and husband, Tommy, of San Angelo; two grandsons, Ricky Wright and wife, Dee, of Wimberly, and Greg Dye of Arlington; four great-grandchildren, Dustin Robinson, Wendy Wright, and Bently and Steffan Dye; nieces, Veta Fay Lawler of Brady, and Wanda Jean and Anna Bess Thomas, of Mason; nephew, Michael L. Peel of Austin; and sister-in-law, Vena Peel of Austin. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
