Carolyn Jeanette Haynes November 22, 1934 - August 21, 2023 Graveside services for Carolyn Haynes, will be 1:15pm, Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at the DFW National Cemetery. Carolyn, a sixty-six year resident of Irving, Texas, went to greet her Lord on the morning of August 21, 2023. She was born in Temple, Texas on November 22, 1934, to John Coufal, Jr. and Vlasta Kalenda Coufal. Carolyn graduated from Temple High School in 1952. She graduated from Temple Junior College in 1954. She graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1956. Following graduation, she found employment with American Airlines at the Baker Statler Southland Center in Dallas, Texas where she would eventually meet and marry her husband of almost sixty-seven years, Bill Haynes. Shortly thereafter, she began an almost forty year career of dedicated service in Higher Education with the Irving Independent School District. During her career, and while simultaneously raising two children, she also managed to achieve twenty-three hours beyond a Masters Degree in Professional Higher Education, and numerous awards, including the Twentieth Century Teacher Award from the Irving Retired Teachers Association, her early retirement due only to a need to provide care for her elderly mother in her waning years. Carolyn was a devoted member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church of Irving, Texas for over fifty years. Among her many interests were caring for animals, games, gardening, ballet, reading, classical music and the Arts, cooking, her time with the Irving Community and Dallas Repertory Theatres, but most importantly, her time spent with her family, friends, and in devoted service to her Lord. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Stanley Coufal of Waco, Texas, as well as her husband, Bill Haynes. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Michelle H. Edwards of Charlotte, North Carolina; her son, Randall Reed Haynes of Irving, Texas and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends she held so dear. Carolyn is survived as well by her two greatest joys, her grandsons John T. Edwards of Charlotte, North Carolina and Joshua Daniel Reed Haynes of Lewisville, Texas.
