Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Monday, 19 November 1923, page 2 Death of Well Known Young Phillips Man Phillips, Nebr., Nov. 19 - Ira Kirkpatrick, 23, passed away at the home of his mother, Mrs. Edward Potter, at 1 p.m. Monday after being bedfast for several weeks. Death is the result of illness of three years of diabetes. During the past summer he underwent treatment at a hospital at Denver. Mr. Kirkpatrick was born and raised on a farm three miles southeast of here, known as the A. F. Kirkpatrick home. He leaves to mourn his untimely loss his bereaved mother; a sister, Mrs. Burley Van Gordon, of Nun, Colo.; and five brothers: Asa of Iowa, and Augustine, Bruce, Virgil and Truman of this community. The family (father?) passed away in 1920 and a younger sister preceded him in death six years ago. Funeral arrangements had not been made early Monday afternoon.
