Raymond Bennie "Roy" Walford, 78, of Grand Island, Nebraska died July 25, 2023 at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2023 at Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell, Nebraska. Pastor Alan Petersen will officiate. There is no visitation. Roy was born September 11, 1944 to Raymond "Bus" and Lillian (Fajmon) Walford in Burwell, Nebraska. Roy grew up on a farm near Burwell and graduated from Burwell High School in 1962. Roy entered the United States Army on January 13, 1965 and was honorably discharged on December 20, 1966. Roy traveled all over working as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed his morning coffee and watching the Discovery channel. Roy is survived by two brothers, Ted Walford of Grand Island, Nebraska and Leslie Walford of Puerto Rico. And nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Rena Buck, three brothers, John, Toby and Dallas.
