Bio

Ruth V. Pribyl, beloved and devoted mother, passed away on Friday July 21, 2023 at the age of 99 in Victoria. She was born April 27, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri to Palmer and Elsie Kruger Lindsley. Mrs. Pribyl was a bookkeeper of a tire company and the manager of a laundromat. Mrs. Pribyl was a devout Catholic and a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church; she was especially devoted to the Blessed Mother, spending the majority of her morning praying her daily prayers. She crocheted hundreds of afghans as gifts, along with donations to the church for fundraisers and over 1600 Baptismal Cloths for the prayer shawl ministry for Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Plano, TX. Ruth and Frank raised 7 wonderful children and every holiday was filled with baking cinnamon rolls, strudels, nut bread, pies and cookies and of course her famous popcorn balls. In her spare time, Mrs. Pribyl was an avid sports fan, especially football and baseball. She is survived by her daughters Barbara (Dick) Baldwin of Helotes, Mary Ann (David) Haney of Dallas, June Alexander of Houston; sons, Paul (Paulette) Pribyl of Friendswood, John (Chris) Pribyl of Victoria, Lee (Mary) Pribyl of Victoria, Joe (Marjorie) Pribyl of Missouri City; grandchildren Randy (Julie), Beverly, Britany (Scott), Eric (Anne), Clint, Chad (Ann), Stephen (Jessica), Buffy, Jamie (Budd), Christopher (Sarah), Leslie (Alex), David (Maria), Jennifer (Matt), Leslie (Julio) and great grandchildren, Reed, Alison, Jake, Allie, Ryleigh, Caleb, John David, Ryland, Eva, Daleigh, Frankee, Kyler, Gene, Ella, Zane Jayke, Alyssa, Julian, Clay, Corie Caleb, Henry and Natalie. In addition to her parents, her husband Frank V. Pribyl; sister Margaret Schellenberg and two brothers, Harry and Adolph Lindsley, precede Mrs. Pribyl in death. Visitation will be Monday, August 7, 2023 from 10-10:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church with a rosary to be recited at 10:30 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Concelebrating the mass with Father Gabriel Bentil will be Mrs. Pribyl's nephew Father James Schellenberg of San Antonio. Graveside services will be 2 pm at Resurrection Cemetery. Honoring Mrs. Pribyl as pallbearers will be Randy Baldwin, Eric Haney, Chad Pribyl, Stephen Alexander, Budd Ratliff, Christopher Pribyl and David Richmond, Jr. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas, 605 E.
