Services for Shirley Parks Sanders, 82, of Gilbert, LA, will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Jigger Apostolic Church in Jigger, LA, with Bro. Hurby Hitt and Ralph Sanders officiating. Interment will follow Myrtle Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro. The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 5:00 P.M.– 9:00 P.M. in the chapel of Jigger Apostolic Church in Jigger. Mrs. Shirley was born to the union of Avert Parks and Laura Armstrong Parks on April 8, 1941, and passed from this life on Thursday, July 13, 2023. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Lonnie B. Sanders; parents, Avert and Laura Parks; son, Lonnie Dewayne Sanders; sister, Eunice Greene; grandson, John Wesley Lachney; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Sanders. Survivors left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Crickett Collins and husband Galen; Terry Wilks and husband Derryl; a son, Ralph B. Sanders and wife Linda; eight grandchildren; Roxanne Sanders, Rachel Sanders, Chelsea Sanders, Kyle Wayne Sanders, Christi Campbell, Sophia Jemerson, Elizabeth Mullican, and Robert Sanders. Also, survived by seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family. Pallbearers will be Robert Sanders, Colby Hatton, Mitchell Mullican, Lance Jemerson, Ralph Campbell, and Galen Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Lachney and Derryl Wilks.
