Finis Ray Phy, 89, of Mesquite, Texas passed away peacefully ln Dallas, Texas on Friday, June 9, 2023. He was born on July 27,1933, in Collin County, Texas to Floyd Clinnie Phy and Hazel Mae Darr Phy. He grew up in Garland, Wichita Falls and Tenell, Texas. He met the love of his life, Jo Ann Winkle in Garland. They were married on October 21, 1951, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They lived in Garland and Rosco, Texas before settling in Mesquite for almost 70 years. They had 3 sons. Finis worked as an electrician in Dallas, then he got a job at Foney Engineering where he worked for 44 years. He traveled with. Forney for many years, that began his love for traveling. He went all over the U.S., to Puerto Rico, to lreland and he lived in China for 3 years. He was baptized at Rogers Baptist Church when he was 6 years old. He was a member there for most of his life. He served the Lord his whole life. He was a Music Minister SS Superintendent, leader of the Seniors Group and anything else that was needed. Finis was also very active. in Youth Football and Baseball and coached several teams through. the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Gary Phy, his grandson, Phillip Phy, his granddaughter, Alexis Phy Tucker and brother Duane Phy. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Jo Ann Winkle Phy. Two sons, Deryl and wife Suzanne, Gary's widow Ramona and son Rickey. Seven grandchildren, Joe, Melissa, Kayce, Tiffany, Dustin, Sean and Finis and Thirteen great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
