"Otha Dee ‘Whacker' Milton 1926-2007 Funeral for Otha Dee "Whacker" Milton, 81, of Wizard Wells was Wednesday, Jan. 2 at First Baptist Church in Joplin with Dr. Loury Drue Nero officiating. Graveside service was at Belew Cemetery, north of Aubrey. Milton died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, in Wizard Wells. Born May 16, 1926, in Aubrey to John D. and Sudie Mae Sanders Milton, he was a retired locksmith for North Texas State University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II. He married Connie Brown Sept. 23, 2000, in Wizard Wells. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Joplin. He was preceded in death by wives, Oleta Arlene Wilson and Iva Dell Lee; granddaughter, Heather Leann Finley; and son-in-law, Thomas Holmes Finley. He is survived by his wife; five children, Gwendolyn Finley of Cedar Creek Lake, Ronald Dee Milton and wife Guyneithe of Moss Lake, Deirdre Cutarelli and husband John of Cardington, Ohio, Suzi Carter and husband Gary of Weatherford and Curtis Smith and wife Bobette of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Marshall Leon Milton and wife Modell of Denton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Eric Finley, Curtis Smith, Joshua Carter, Gary Carter, Jimmy Vestal, James Morrow, Jordan Bennett and Steven Mock."
