Bio

September 18, 2022 Barbara Maureen Liggett, a loving, calm, curious, and compassionate mother & friend, is now with the Lord and all of our loved ones who have passed on. She passed away at the age of 62, peacefully at home on September 18th, 2022. Maureen was born on December 29th, 1959, in Alliance, Nebraska, to late Mason S. Morrill and late Barbara Ann Burke Morrill. The youngest of four children, she has a special relationship and is close with all three of her brothers and their families. Maureen would say her greatest gift from God are her three children; her children would say it is her kind heart and contagious smile. Her oldest, Maggie Walsh & husband Brian Walsh; Nolan Liggett, whom she enjoys visiting in Portland, Oregon; the youngest, Carly Grace, a junior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Maureen's light & love shines on many family & friends. Including, Scott Liggett, father of her children. Her brother, Patrick Morrill and his late wife, Jane Morrill, and their children Mason, Jennifer, Jennifer Johnson, Rebecca Pasnoori, Kate Collins, Connor Fox, and their families. Brother, Glenn Michael Morrill. Brother, Robert Morrill and his wife, Jenay Morrill, and their children Sunny (future) Allen and James, and their families. She is also a sister, cousin & friend to many across Burke, Pokorski, Liggett & Heaston families. To reflect on a few highlights of her life: Her love for music and her musical talents she plays both six and twelve string guitars, and has a lovely voice. She often uses music to communicate or express herself. Enjoying nature - whether that be walks on Tomahawk Creek Trail or a hike in the Shenandoah Mountains. Traveling the sights of the world from the Pacific Northwest, to the Sandhills of Nebraska, to Husker games around the country, to visiting her oldest during her study abroad in Italy. Her dream was to travel to Ireland, and while unfortunately she wasn't able to fulfill that, her children are committed to living that out for her. Her care & compassion for helping others from being a 'second mom' to many around her, to the friendships, health and well-being of her Blue Valley Schools community, to her love for animals. For those wanting to honor her memory, you can make a donation to St. Agnes Catholic Academy in Alliance, NE, and/or pour yourself a shot of Jameson and toast to her bright light & love carrying on through all of us. "The more love you give, the more you will receive." Maureen.
