Bio

Paul Puckett, 83, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 21, 2008. Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Large Chapel of First Baptist Church of Euless, 1000 W. Airport Freeway. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Paul was born April 19, 1924, in Slidell. He moved to the Fort Worth area in the '40s and met the love of his life, Ernestine, several years later at Poly Baptist Church. Paul was a buyer first at Mid-Continent Supply Company and then at Bell Helicopter Textron. He was an active member and former deacon at First Baptist Church of Euless. He was also active in his community, serving on the Hurst Parks Board for 10 years and as a Mason for more than 50 years, most recently with the Hurst Masonic Lodge. Paul never met a stranger. For those who knew him best, he will be remembered for his warm smile, friendly handshake and the joy he found in brightening both friends' and new acquaintances' days with the thousands of bouquets of flowers that he grew, arranged, and gave away over the last several decades. Paul was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa who we'll dearly miss. However, we're excited to know that he is spending this Easter in a better place. "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21). Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Ernestine; sons, Doug Puckett and wife, Sheila, Mark Puckett, and Kirk Puckett and wife, Kayla; grandchildren, Tyler, Travis, Ashley, Tara and Nicholas Puckett; and a lifetime full of terrific friends.
