Jan 10, 2016 7:10 PM-death place * ---------------- SERVICES HELD FOR FORMER COWETAN Funeral services for Edgar Guerdon “E.G.” Parks, age 52 of Poteau, Oklahoma, were held Monday at 2pm in the Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Poteau. Parks died of a heart attack he suffered at the Muskogee County Court House Friday afternoon, October 18, 1963. Parks was a member of the Methodist Church and the Sheriff and Peace Officers Association. He was employed at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife Donnie of the home; his father, Marion Parks of Coweta, Oklahoma; five brothers, Lloyd Leon “Cotton” Parks of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Basil and David Birch Parks, both of Portland, Oregon, J.E. “Chris” Parks of Los Angeles, California, and Homer Parks of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mr. Parks was reared in Coweta, Oklahoma.
