Shirley A. Bonewits, 82, of Ash Flat, Arkansas, passed away, Saturday, September 19, 2020 in Salem, Arkansas. She was born on May 2, 1938, daughter of the late Everett and Elsie (Spurlock) Houghlan. Shirley spent her life as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was united in marriage to James Floyd Bonewits at in Hammond, Indiana. During her working years, she worked as a mammogram technician. Shirley was of the Christian faith. Shirley is survived by her husband, James Bonewits of Ash Flat, Arkansas; daughter, Dea Ann Bridegroom of Bridgeport, Illinois; two grandchildren, Heather Ann Bridegroom and James Lee Bonewits and two great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Elsie Houghlan; daughter, Cynda Lou Markanich and son, Daniel Lee Bonewits. Gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, September 26, 2020 beginning at 2:00 PM at Doty Family Funeral & Memorial Service Chapel in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Arrangements entrusted to Doty Family Funeral & Memorial Service of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.
