Bio

Son of David Wilken & Isabella Hunter Married Jane Easton, 13 Dec 1851 Veteran - Mormon Batl. - Mexican War Sgt Co C 4th Sergeant (Private at M. O.) or Wilkey, David (Tyler's list, DAVID WILKIN) Private. Accompanied by wife Isabella McNair Hunter Wilkin (md 21 July 1839). On detached service since Oct. 17, 1846, by order of Colonel Doniphan, Commanding Army of the West. Mustered out with detachment, to date July 16, 1847. Arrival: In the company of a group of immigrants. He joined the LDS group in Navoo, then joined the Mormon Battallion and was with them for a year on the march to Santa Fe, New Mexico, then to to Pueblo, Colorado.
