Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2006, at 10:00 am, in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Jewel Carlisle, 83, who passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Reverend Larry Langley, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place at Rose Pine Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana. Mrs. Carlisle was the daughter of Hiram Davis. She provided volunteer service to Hospice of Acadiana, Faith House and several others. Survivors include one step daughter, Carolyn Benoit and husband, Terrell of Batson, Texas; one step daughter-in-law, Linda Patin Carlisle; seven step grandchildren; eleven step great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild and one brother, Winford Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph W. Carlisle; her sisters and one stepson, John Douglas Carlisle. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Friday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue Saturday from 8:00 am until service time at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will include Will Carlisle, Chad Carlisle, Kyle Carlisle, Karl Howard, Greg Mire and Chuck Benoit. Honorary Pallbearer will be David Hebert.
