Bio

Yevon Pilcher was born June, 21, 1927, in the Enon Community of Upshur County, Texas. She graduated from Harmony High School and was part of the group that selected the school colors, mascot, and school song. She was always involved in her community and dedicated to bettering her surroundings. She was a leader in the Camp Fire Organization, a member of the Upshur County Home Extension Club, and served as the President of the Hospital Auxiliary from 1994-2006. She served as a volunteer for Upshur County Little League for many years. Beta Sigma Phi honored her with the First Lady of the Year award in 1983. She was named Upshur County Outstanding Citizen in 1990. She was a faithful member to First Baptist Church of Gilmer where she served in many rolls. Of all the titles she held over the years, her favorite was being called Nana. She loved her family dearly and was a prayer warrior on their behalf. She enjoyed flowers and crafting. She loved to make gifts for everyone she encountered. She was preceded in death by parents Elvie and Dora Green; her husband, Nathan Pilcher; her daughter, Betty Pearson, her brother Eugene Green; her two sisters; Velma Foster and Estelle Hymer; along with many other friends and family.
