Bio

On April 16, 2023, Dorthy Ann Dodds Filer passed away with family by her side. She was born December 7, 1940 to Bertha Bozeman and Argen Dodds, the youngest of 10. Dorthy was an avid gardener, baseball enthusiast, seamstress and active member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. She served in numerous officers positions thru the years as a part of the Catholic Daughters #2115. One of her greatest joys was making kolaches with both her family and church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight of her siblings and her husband Melvin Filer. She is survived by; three sons, Mark Alan Filer, Jason Todd Filer and his wife Adele, Troy Lynn Filer and his wife Beverly; daughter Cynthia Marie Lewis and her husband Michael; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother Bob Dodds; sister-in-law Cleo Filer. Honoring the family serving as Pallbearers, Buddy Janceck, Eli Filer, George Todd, Mike Lewis, Reese Filer, Walter Prokosch. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 pm at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521. Funeral Mass will occur Friday, April 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Anne Mission, County Road 622, Dayton, Texas 77535. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Dorthy's memory to St. Anne's Catholic Daughters #2115 c/o Madeleine Wilson 106 Sparkling Water Drive Huffman Texas 77336.
