Bio

Arthur H. "Huey" Gill entered peacefully into rest on Wednesday April 12, 2023, at the age of 78 years, at Westwood Manor in DeRidder. Huey was born on June 13, 1944 in Sugartown, LA to Ransom L. and Mame Estelle Deason Gill. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the chapel of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023, starting a 2:00 PM with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Gill and Bro. Frankl Ott, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Smyrna Cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Funeral Services under the care and direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Left to cherish his memory is his three sons, Kevin Cooley, Sr. and wife Laurie of Natchitoches, Bobby Cooley and wife Tiffany of Rosepine, and Billy Cooley and wife Angie of DeRidder; seven grandchildren, Keith Cooley and wife Jessie, Jeremy Cooley and wife Nikki, Abigail Ducote, Heather Hooks and husband Landis, Justin Vick, Drew Vick and wife Carrie, and Aspen Cooley, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, R.L. and Estelle Gill; his loving wife, Aimee Gill; son, Raymond Michael Cooley; two sisters, Nadine Payton, and Ila Faye Holliday.
