Domon Ciochon, 43-year-old welder from Gloster, was accidentally electrocuted yesterday afternoon when a gin-pole of a truck came in contact with a high-voltage electrical line while he was working on St. Vincent Avenue. Ciochon, pronounced dead on arrival at Schumpert Sanitarium, where he was taken by Wellman's ambulance, was helping to put up an awning outside the Shreveport Concrete and Supply Co. office, 9000 St. Vincent Ave., when the accident occurred, according to Detective H. Nichols said witnesses told him they heard the man yell and saw him fall backwards into a ditch. They said he was still breathing when the ambulance arrived, but died en route to the hospital despite resuscitation efforts by ambulance attendants. Dr. Stuart DeLee, Caddo Parish coroner, ruled the death accidental electrocution. A native of Ord, Neb., Ciochon had lived in the Gloster area for 16 years. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Stonewall, and was a veteran of World War II.
