Bio

David Kent Darter, 67, of Burkburnett, Texas passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. The family will receive friends and well-wishers between 6 and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the adjacent Burkburnett Cemetery. Kent was born on August 30, 1955, to the late Reeford and Peggy Darter at Wichita General Hospital. He grew up in Temple, Oklahoma before meeting Robin Burke in high school and eventually marrying her on July 24th, 1975. Kent was a faithful and loving man of God. He served for several years at the First Baptist Church in Burkburnett while working as a Quality Control Inspector at the local AMERON plant. After retiring he spent his time as a gunsmith gaining a following and reputation that led to many out-of-town patrons. He also enjoyed summers camping with his grandkids at local RV parks. He will be truly missed by his family, friends and loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Robin; brother, Joe Mac; sister, Becky; two daughters: Melissa and Carrie; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
