Chet left this earth on November 7, 2015 at the age of 90. He was born in Pilot Knob, Texas on January 20, 1925. Preceding him in death were his parents, Isidor and Annie Jewel, 6 brothers, and a daughter, Nancy. Chet had a long and accomplished life. He was a gifted athlete who enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and later outfielder on a Kansas semi-pro baseball team. He was a Mason/ Shriner/Jester and most avid hunter, killing only what he would eat. While attending school in Buda, Texas, he worked jobs in the cotton fields and stoving church heaters on Sunday to help with his schooling. After completing one year at Texas A&M, WWII broke out and he enlisted in the Air Force. He became a certified B-25 & B-26 flight instructor and bombardier. He always claimed Truman saved his life in dropping "the bomb" because he had orders to go to the Pacific the next day. After the war, he finished two years schooling at University of New Mexico and was a 'walk-on-quarterback'. He later graduated from the University of Texas and continued pharmacy school lacking only a few hours to completion. Having a lifetime Texas teaching certificate, he taught math, coached and tutored English. He worked summers in the oil fields and he was hired by Magobar (known today as Dresser Industries) serving as District Manager over 4 states for 14 years. Then he and a friend formed a company called Basin Petroleum Corp. The company later went on the Philadelphia/Washington/Baltimore Stock Exchange and later The American Stock Exchange. Selling out in 1975, he formed Armbruster Properties. In 1972, he and his wife, Ann, moved on a 640 acre ranch in Macomb, OK, and raised registered Bramazine cattle. He had a very generous heart in helping others succeed as well as his immediate family. Special thanks are extended to Dr. V. Ramgopal, Golden Age Hospice, many health care providers at Quail Ridge Senior Living, and a special friendship with the Pete Adams family. Chet is survived by his loving wife, Ann, of 50 years and a son, Richard, his wife Jeanne, and daughters, Elise and Keeley of Phoenix, AZ. He preferred no services but if donations wanted, to the Wounded Warriors or to the Salvation Army. He is already missed.
