Esther Ada Dungan, 94, of Odessa, passed away on February 28, 2023. Viewing will be on March 10, 2023 from 6 – 8 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. Graveside services will held at 10:00 am on Thursday March 11, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. Esther was born in Haxtun, CO to Elmer Mackey and Nellie Mackey on April 4, 1928. She married Stanley Castello (1948), Billy Gordon (1954), and Jon Dungan (1983). Esther and Jon were owners of Big Tex Pawn in Midland, TX for 30 years. Esther was preceded in death by her parents Stanley Castello (1951), Billy Gordon (1968), and Jon Dungan (2012); brother Lee Mackey; sister Dorothy Hanson; grandson James Edward; and granddaughter Stephanie Henson. Esther is survived by 2 daughters Mary Dawson (Amarillo), Denise Sawyers (Jimmy) Odessa; one son Eddie Gordon (Tina) Odessa; and she was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Zane Spruill, Gordon Spruill, Jonathan Spruill, Christopher Spruill, William Henson, and Thomas Deese. Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to Home Hospice. The family of Esther Dungan wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Home Hospice for their great compassion with mom.
