Bio

Services for Dudley E. Hughes, 76, of Malakoff are set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at Carroll & Lehr Memory chapel with the Rev. James Chatham officiating. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery of Henderson County. Mr. Hughes died Sunday in a Tyler hospital after a long illness. He was born Sept. 3, 1903, in Stockard in Henderson County. He owned and operated an automobile repair shop in Houston for 35 years. He lived in Malakoff for the past seven years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Malakoff. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Hazel Hughes of Malakoff , three sons, Joe Hughes, Elden Hughes and Jerry Hughes, all of Houston one brother, Pete Hughes of Houston, one sister, Agnes Gutherie of Malakoff and 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Harold Ray Griffin. Jessie Carter, Elwood Hunt, Carl Harris, Charles Guthrie, Don Hughes, Brown Hughes and Morgan Hughes
