Bio

Glen was born on August 14th, 1934, in Ballinger, Texas to SL and Thelma Ferguson. He peacefully joined his Savior in heaven on February 21, 2023, at the age of 88. Glen wishes were to be cremated under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home and will be taken to Ballinger at a later date for final disposition. A Celebration of life will be held on March 4th in the College Heights Baptist Church fellowship hall from 2:00-4:00pm. Glen had a long and good life. He surrendered to the ministry at 14 and attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, graduating with a BS degree in Theology. He then went on to Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Glen pastored many churches for 15 years. He then went into finance for the rest of his working years. Glen loved Africa and felt called to go at 14 but God did not send him until he was 66. He first went on mission trips to several different countries in Africa with International Crusades. The last trip with them was to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. He fell in love with the church and pastor at Kingamboni. He then got groups together and went back to Tanzania nine times. He was very fortunate to have sponsor who funded the building of 7 churches in and around Dar Es Salaam. He is preceded in death by his parents SL and Thelma Ferguson; his brothers Bill and Gary Ferguson; his sisters Mary Minton and Barbara Rollwitz. He is survived by his loving wife Gail Carpenter Bahr Ferguson, whom he's been married to for 44 years; his sons Allen Ferguson and wife Becky of Garland, TX, John Ferguson and wife Diana of Comanche, OK; his daughters Jennifer Gross and husband Todd of Richardson, TX, Jeanann Foster and husband Jerry of Boynton, OK; he was blessed with 7 beautiful grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren whom he loved very much. 8/18/2023 update... A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2023, in First Baptist Church, Ballinger fellowship hall from 2:30 - 4 p.m. Published by Runnels County Register from Aug. 17 to Aug. 24, 2023.
