Bio

******************************************* Larry Lee Landreth, 80, born August 15, 1942, in Santa Maria, California, passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2023, in Omaha, Nebraska. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Sharon Lee Landreth (Small), sister Linda Landreth, son Grant and husband Jay Swanson, Daughter Joana Kimmel (Landreth) and husband Lesley Kimmel, grandchildren Charlotte and Hugo Kimmel. Greeting him after his passing are his mother Pauline Landreth (Jacobsen), father Harry Landreth and one very special and loyal puppy Compton. Larry was a true salt of the Earth man. A friend to every person he met, except the knot-heads. Born in California, but raised in Broken Bow Nebraska, entering the Navy after graduating High School in 1960. He returned to Nebraska in 1963 and graduated from business school. Found true love when he met Sharon early in 1977, marrying later that year. He worked many jobs through his life; memorably construction with brothers-in-law Bob and Dennis Small and administrative work at Gatchell Electric where he retired in 2009 to spend time traveling with Sharon and providing childcare for his two grandkids. Larry was active in many organizations through his life: Future Farmers of America, Boy Scouts of America, PFLAG, Mustang Club, St Michael and St Thomas Lutheran churches in Omaha. He had a zest for life and a love for all. His devotion and love for his family touched the lives of each of them, leaving a handprint on our hearts and a space we will struggle to fill.
