Mrs. G. S. Jarnagin's Funeral Set at Roby Roby, Feb. 5 - Funeral services for Mrs. G. S. Jarnagin, who died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in Sweetwater Municipal Hospital, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church here. She would have observed her 75th birthday anniversary on Valentine's Day. Mrs. Jarnagin had been ill the last three months and was hospitalized after suffering a stroke last Thursday. Born Feb. 14, 1879 in Guadalupe County, she was the former Lona Maud Wright. She was married at Prairie Lee on Nov. 19, 1896 and she and Mr. Jarnagin, who died about five years ago, lived in Durant, Okla. from 1903 until 1907 when they moved to Neinda in Jones County. They farmed there until the late 1930's when they moved to a farm near Roby. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. R. P. Kemp of Sylvester, Mrs. Jack Kiker of Roby and Mrs. C. H. Gillis of Muleshoe; five sons, Melville of Roby, Elbert of Odessa, Oran of Snyder, Norman of Onida, S.D., and A. J. of Pavillion, Wyo.; one sister, Mrs. Nannie Slaton of Wheeler; three brothers, Homer Wright of Amherst, Madison of Foster, Okla. and Walter Wright of Blair; and 20 grandchildren. The Rev. J. T. Campbell will conduct final rites, assisted by the Rev. J. R. Murdock of North Cowden, Tex. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery under direction of McCombs Funeral Home.
