Bio

Wil Schwarz was called home by his loving Savior, on January 16, 2023 at the age of 79 years with his family by his side. Wilmer Delmar Schwarz was born on March 21, 1943 to Martin and Hilda (Ude) Schwarz Sr. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Mercer County, ND. Wil graduated from Beulah High School in 1963 and attended NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND for a year. He entered the Army in June, 1965 and was honorably discharged in June, 1967. He was united in marriage with Helen Hausauer, Regan ND on August 24, 1965 in Bismarck. They adopted a daughter, Wanda in 1967 and a son, Troy in 1969. Helen passed away in 1974. He married Lois Pfeiffer, New Rockford, ND on June 24, 1978 in Jamestown and they had 1 child, Joshua in 1980. After becoming disabled in 1981, Wil and his family moved from Billings MT to Jamestown ND, where they resided for the next 41 years. He enjoyed 40 years of camping with family and friends, tending his vegetable garden, or just tinkering in the shop with one of his many tractors or vehicles. In April, 2022, Wil entered a memory care facility in Fargo, ND. Wil is survived by his wife, Lois, West Fargo; his daughter, Wanda Boomgaarden, of Wahpeton and son, Joshua (Taryn) of Fargo; grandchildren, Sara Boomgaarden, Las Vegas NV, Ryan Boomgaarden, Jamestown; Lexie, Jackson, and Bennett Schwarz, Fargo; daughter-in-law, Tammy Schwarz, Reynolds; brothers, Elmer (Arlene) Washburn, Leo (Joann) Badger, SD, Martin (Susan), Bismarck, sister, Frieda Maas, Hazen, sisters-in-law, LaRue Schwarz, Hazen, Evie Schwarz, Fargo, and Sharon Schwarz, Garrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Helen; a son, Troy; brothers, Albert, Alvin, and Herbert; sister and brother-in-law, Lydia and Harold Hochhalter; brother-in-law, Raymond Maas.
