Source: Daily Ardmoreite •SULPHUR -- Services for Junior Ray "J.R." Hatfield, 70, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Clagg Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Biggerstaff officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery. Hatfield was born Aug. 11, 1930, at Collin, Texas, to Robert L. and Lula Townsend Hatfield. He died July 14, 2001, in Ardmore. He was raised in Texas and lived in Midwest City before moving to Sulphur in 1972. He was a heavy equipment operator. His faith was Baptist. He and Sharon Allen were married Aug. 15, 1972, at Elk Point, S.D. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Deborah Davenport, Choctaw, and LaRae Hatfield, Midwest City; two sons, Robert R., Oklahoma City, and Cecil E., Hemphill, Texas; three brothers, John R., Wylie, Texas, Clifford, Omaha, Texas, and Shelby, Euless, Texas; three sisters, Alene Benson, Garland, Texas, Oleta Bagwell, Marietta, Texas, and Lometa Hester, Durant; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Todd, in 1969 and a sister, Audrey Self.
