Bio

Larry Ronald Ellsworth, 82, passed peacefully on January 3, 2023, surrounded by family. Larry was born on October 10, 1940, in Dallas, Texas to LaVonne Jacobs Ellsworth and K. Lee Ellsworth. He was the middle of three sons: older brother K. Lynn (Ken) and younger brother, Danny Ray (deceased). Larry and his brothers excelled in sports and academics all through their school years, winning many trophies and awards. After surviving a battle with tuberculosis at age 17, Larry graduated from W. W. Samuel High School in 1960 and enrolled in UT Arlington. With plans to become an engineer, Larry left college after the birth of his three daughters (Christi, Cammi and Cassi) to sell shoes so that he could support his family. Larry was always a truly devoted, self-sacrificing and ever-present influence in the lives of his daughters. Excellence, intelligence, love of people and a great sense of humor guided Larry to quickly become the top salesman in the company Those same characteristics and passions guided him throughout his life to quickly excel and rise to the top in any endeavor he pursued. After he was employed in the corrugated box industry as a Sales Service Representative, he worked his way up the ladder and eventually became the General Sales Manager for Georgia Pacific in Dallas. That plant was closed in 1984 and Larry opened his own successful box company, Packaging Services (later changed to Target Packaging), in 1985 which he owned until retirement in 1999. In 1983 Larry met his treasured wife Debbie and her two daughters (Staci and Kristi); they were married in May 1984. Larry and Debbie traveled the world with friends and family, from France, Ireland and Italy to Tahati. Their last adventure was to Hawaii in 2019 to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary. Exceedingly athletic and an avid sportsman, Larry spent many fun and happy hours with his family on the lake, on the golf course and hunting. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren to water ski and play golf or hunt and ride ATV's at his daughter and son-in-law's ranch. He and Debbie moved full time to their home in Pinnacle Golf Club on Cedar Creek Lake in 2001, from which they continued their adventures with an active lifestyle and social life. Golf was Larry's passion, and he became the first president of the Pinnacle Golf Association (PGA). Due to health issues, they moved to Argyle, Texas in 2020 where Larry passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 3, 2023. Left to cherish Larry's memory are his loving and devoted wife, Debbie, his precious and blessed children, daughter Cheryl Christine Jahani and husband Sam Jahani of Conroe, Texas; daughter Gina Camille Asadi of Windsor, Colorado; daughter Cassandra Ann Ellsworth of Lake Dallas, Texas; daughter Staci Gaye Stevens and husband Billy Stevens of Flower Mound, Texas; and daughter Kristal Lynn Basinger of Haslet, Texas; 18 brilliant and incredible grandchildren, Samuel David, Joshua Michael, Jonathan Daniel, Rachel Christine, Hannah Camille, Hadassah Ruth, Emily Christine, Joseph Ellsworth, Abigail Laurel, Seth Jacob, Shahram Daniel Jr., Alyssa Lynn, Andrew David, Logan Wayne, Lauren Nichole, Janna Michelle, Shanna Dianne and Sarah Renee; and 16 loved and cherished greatgrandchildren; his dear brother, K. Lynn Ellsworth and wife Elizabeth of Ft. Worth, Texas; precious mother-in-law Regina Dickinson of Lewisville, Texas; and many beloved nieces, nephews and other extended family. His friends and family always remember Larry as a sweet, generous, witty (always ready with a joke), ever steady and loving man of intelligence and integrity. In his life and through his passing, Larry leaves behind a great legacy that is due to his constant care and tender devotion to those he loves. His family will be forever grateful for his guidance, support, sincere care and steadfast consistency. He was a truly great man! A Memorial Celebration will be held at Pinnacle Golf Club on Cedar Creek Lake on January 22, 2023 at 2 pm. "But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses." 1 Timothy 6:11-12
