The Hinton Daily News and Leader, Hinton, West Virginia Friday, August 1, 1919, page 1 While hunting near his home last Friday afternoon, July 25, Perchie Parker, aged 16, son of Mr and Mrs Beirne Parker of Sarton, this county, accidentally shot himself. He had gotten up on a log and set his shotgun down, his hands about the muzzle, when in some way the gun was discharged. The little finger of his right hand was shot off, the ball of his left thumb lacerated, a hole about 4 inches wide torn in his stomach to the coverings of his bowels, and several shot struck him about the left eye and forehead while others entered his left arm. Perchie was badly injured but at last accounts was getting on well.
