Bio

(Thanks to contributor #46946512) ANDERSON, BEULAH L. 93, of Arcadia, died Feb. 13, 2008, at the Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center at Broken Bow. Funeral services were Feb. 18, 2008, at the Gathering Place in Arcadia, with Darrel Sybrant officiating. Burial was in the Arcadia City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Gathering Place, the Arcadia City Library or the Arcadia Fire Department. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Beulah Louise was born July 18, 1914, to Archie and Leona (George) Traver north of Mason City. She attended school in Westerville and Ansley. On Oct. 31, 1934, Beulah was united in marriage Bernard Anderson at Kearney. To this union two sons were born, Claris Gene and Richard Lee. They farmed in Ash Canyon and in 1943, they moved to a farm east of Ansley, the district known as Box Elder. In 1950, they moved to the O'Conner place north of Arcadia. Then in 1952, they purchased a farm in Pleasant Valley and lived there until they moved to GoldenLiving Center at Broken Bow in the fall of 1996. Beulah enjoyed working outside in her garden and especially enjoyed growing flowers and taking care of the farm animals. She especially liked having her grandchildren come over and visit. She also enjoyed dancing, and doing fancy work that included embroidering. She continued to embroider in the nursing home until the last two years when it became hard for her to see. While in the nursing home she also enjoyed doing crafts, playing bingo and attending the church services in the home where she especially liked the music. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Connie (Williams) Anderson of Arcadia; their three children, Chris Gogan and her husband, Ed of Nebraska City, Vicki Ahern and her husband, Jim of Kearney, and Mick Anderson and his wife, Tami of Kearney; great-grandchildren, Michael and Rachel Gogan of Nebraska City, Micayla Anderson of Kearney and Blake Anderson and his wife, Billie of Humphrey; a grandson, Terry Veeder and his wife, Carmen of Hallomon Air Force Base, N.M. and their children, James and Amber, Katie, and Courtney; a sister, Ruth Leininger, of Arcadia; and a brother, David Traver of Spokane, Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard who passed away Jan. 14, 2006; a son, Claris, and a sister, Irene Sell Erickson. Published in the Custer County Chief 2/22/2008
