Bio

Son of Coleman L. & Lurana (Barnes) Jenkins. Migrated to Ellis County about 1845 from Indiana. Married Sarah Ann Cooper on 9-29-1851 - one of the first marriages recorded in Ellis County. Father of 11 children - 5 girls & 6 boys. All but 3 lived to maturity. Donated land for Mt. Zion Cemetery. Became a prominent farmer.
