Bio

Alberta Taylor Greene, 90, formerly of Candler, died Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at the WNC Baptist Retirement Home. Mrs. Greene was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was the daughter of the late Arthur Alburtus and Lola Morgan Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ted Greene who died in April, 1988, two brothers, former Congressman Roy A. Taylor and Luther Taylor and a sister Marguerite Wise. She was a graduate of Candler High School and attended Brevard College. She was an active member of "Cloud 9" Bridge Club and retired from American Enka with 42 years of service. She was a member of Hominy Baptist Church, active in the Adult I Sunday School Department, W.M.U. and Hilltoppers. Surviving are nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at Hominy Baptist Church Cemetery Memorials may be made to Hominy Baptist Church Building Fund, 135 Candler School Road, Candler, NC 28715.
