A. H. TALLEY IS TAKEN BY DEATH Towerman for North Western Suddenly Seized With Heart Failure; Large Family Survive. Amnuel* H. Talley, age 62, 1521 Kellogg avenue, dropped dead about 12:45 this afternoon. He was at work around the barn where he suddenly became ill. He was carried into the house. When the surgeon arrived he was dead. Death was due to heart failure. The deceased came here from Nevada. He had lived here about five years and was employed as towerman, for the Northwestern railway. He was born near Richland, Iowa. He is survived by eight sons and two daughters. Ames Daily Tribune and Ames Evening Times, Saturday, 26 June 1920, page 4 OBITUARY A. H. TALLEY (Contributed) A. H. Talley was born in Ioka, Iowa, April 27, 1858. He died at his home in Ames, Iowa, June 23, 1920, aged 62 years, 1 month and 26 days. He was married to Mary H. C. Freshe [Frehse], November 11, 1880. Mrs. Talley died November 17, 1909. Thirteen children were the result of this union. Three of these are deceased. The remaining children: Cypert A., Emery E., Francis E., Gracie M., Mattie, Morley H., Chapen R., Archie, Leonard W., Ransom A., Florence M., Gaylord C., and two brothers and one sister survive him. Mr. Talley made a profession of religion a number of years ago in Nebraska and joined the church of the United Brethren in Christ. Coming to Ames he united with the same church here, of which church he remained a consistent member to the day of his death, which was very sudden, without a moment's warning.
