John Franklin Hunter Jr. "Frank, Franky" was born in Amarillo, Texas on April 26, 1943 to John Franklin Hunter and Sunshine Bowen Hunter. He passed away peacefully on October 22, 2022 in Denison, Texas. He was a graduate from Amarillo High School. He found his passion riding bare back in rodeos all over the Panhandle every summer while in high school. He attended West Texas State University as well as South Plains College while continuing to rodeo. After a year at South Plains he attended farrier school and began to apply the trade of a farrier. After showing horses for a few years, he began to sell hats for Lagenberg Hat Company. He then moved to Bailey Hat Company and worked for them for many years. His last job was at Rick's Boots in Calera, Oklahoma. Frank met and kept many friends over the years. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and the slots at Choctaw casino. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Sunshine Hunter, his sister Linda Kay Tucker, a nephew John Tucker. He is survived by his nephew Rick Tucker and his wife and 3 children of Bells,Texas, and niece Traci Ross and her husband and 2 children of Phoenix, Arizona, Graveside services will be on November 19 at a time to be determined at Cannon cemetery.
