Victor V. Dlabaja went to our heavenly Father's arms on February 9, 2008, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 84. Dad was an active member of the American Legion and proudly served in the U. S. Army during WWII where he received two purple hearts. He will be remembered as "Mr. Moravian Hall" for his dedicated Life-Long membership, helping lay the foundation of the building and instilling the Czech and Christian heritage it represents. Up until two years ago he was an independent cotton buyer here and in Lubbock, Texas. Victor will always be remembered by his willingness to always help anyone in need and a big cigar in his hand and a smile on his face. Fishing, hunting and a good game of tarock with friends always brought a smile on his face. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Pearline Dlabaja; son, Raymond Dlabaja; daughter, Shirley (Nicki) Freeman; grandson, James Aaron Freeman (Stephanie); granddaughter, Chelsey Sue Freeman, and great grandson, James Nathaniel Freeman; his sisters Millie Kral, Ann Pasderny (Jerry) and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service held at Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Seaside Memorial Park.
