June 14, 1940 - October 19, 2022 Bonita Jane Cryer Slusser of Crosby, Texas passed away at home with loved ones at her side on October 19, 2022. Bonita was born on June 14, 1940, in Rockdale, Texas to Beulah Inez Cryer and Edward James Cryer. Bonita is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Pete, James, Mary, Dorothy, Patsy, Ann, and Betsy; grandson Colton Grant Slusser; and Cousin David Antle. She is lovingly survived by her husband of 64 years, Edwin Grant Slusser Sr.; children, Suzanne Slusser Thibodeaux, Edwin Grant Slusser Jr. and wife Barbara and Kalynne Slusser Wilkerson and husband Clay; grandchildren, Romni and husband Ske, Tyler, Danielle, Kendall and wife Morghan, Dallas and wife Jolene; great-grandchildren, Keana, Kaira, Kaden, Kamri, Kauper, Taylin, Kinlee, Kali, Kamry and Klaetyn; in addition to other extended family members and friends. In 1957, she met the love of her life, Ed on a blind date. March 18, 1958, they broke up only to be reunited one week later, on March 25,1958 and so as not to get away again he asked for her hand in marriage. They were married on May 20, 1958 and started their family two years later. One of her favorite sayings was "All because two people fell in Love" because it started their family that has now grown to 25. Bonita worked for Saudi Aramco as a Title Relocation Advisor for 23 years. She retired in 2000 but during those 23 years, she culminated many friendships around the world. Her favorite pastime included watching football, especially the "Dallas Cowboys" of course, the Houston Rockets and any child, grandchild, great grandchild's, nieces or nephews sporting event. She enjoyed scrapbooking, camping, gardening and the occasional Rummikub, which if you knew her personally that was every day, several times a day. She was known by all as Bonita (Beautiful/Pretty), Momma, Mom, Grammy, Grams, Mimi, and Aunt Bonita. The family wants to thank each and every one of you for your kindness, support and love during this difficult time. They would like for you to join them for a memorial service to honor Bonita's life on Saturday, October 29, 2022, in the chapel of Carter-Conley Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. The family will be gathering at Ed and Bonita's house following the service for a time of food and fellowship, all are welcome to join them at 910 Indian Shores Road, Crosby, Texas 77532.
