Bio

James "Jim" Benjamin Inman III, 75, of Caldwell, Texas crossed over to the Promised Land on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 after a very brief battle with lung cancer. A graveside service will be held in his honor at the Chriesman Cemetery on Saturday October 29, 2022. Jim was born on December 27, 1946 and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He was drafted into the Vietnam War in 1969 serving as an E6 Sargent leading his men in search and destroy missions in the jungles against the Viet-Cong. After discharge he returned to college and graduated from Texas A&I University where he met the love of his life and married Caressa Speckman in 1971 in Bay City, Texas. After graduation they moved back to San Antonio and later made their way to Chriesman, Texas where they homesteaded Caressa's grandparents farm, building a large log house, raising cows, chickens, pigs and gardening. Jim quickly went from being a city boy to a wet behind the ears country boy! Halliburton transferred them to Pleasanton, Texas where they raised their two girls Caressa Fry and Jessica Cade. They moved back to their farm in Chriesman after retirement. Jim was an Elder, Treasurer and Liturgist in the Caldwell First Presbyterian Church. In all of his "free time" he would mow Chriesman, collect the chicken eggs and especially loved milking the cow (not!!!). Jim is preceded in death by his parents J.B and Lois Inman and his beloved mother-in-law Bernadette Speckman. Pallbearer's are Brian Vajdos, Matt Martin, Burton Speckman, Ben Speckman, Terry Cobbs and Bruce Cobbs. He is survived by his wife Caressa, daughter Caressa Vajdos and husband Brian and daughter Jessica Martin and husband Matt, grandchildren Caressa Ella Vajdos, Sadie Estelle Vajdos, Cooper Dietrich Martin, Annie Ellen Martin and Drake Don Martin; sisters Marty Donahue, Pam Flannery and numerous nieces and nephews.
