Bio

Jerrene (White) Worthington, 94, of Natick, formerly of Worcester, passed away with her devoted husband by her side Friday, August 24th 2018. Jerrene was born January 30, 1924 "six miles east of West," Texas, a daughter of Chester and Effie (Sullivan) White. She married the "Love of her life" George A. Worthington on January 1st 1954, beginning a 64 year marriage of love, family, dedication, and devotion. They lived and worked in Texas until 1961, New Jersey from 1961-1978, Connecticut for three years, and Chicago for several years, before moving to Massachusetts in 1993. Jerrene and George joined the Presbyterian Church in 1966 under the pastorship of the Rev. Dr. Gerald S. Mills in New Providence, New Jersey. Since moving to Massachusetts, they have been members of the First Presbyterian Church of Worcester. Jerrene served as a Deacon for several years, and was a member of the Lydia Circle and a bible study group. A Daughter of the American Revolution, one of her proudest achievements was to write and publish a 700 page book 30 years in the making about the ancestors and descendants of her parents: Traces from the Cotton Patch ( 2005; Library of Congress #2005932974). She loved her family and any time she could be with them.
